A rice cooker is suggested but you may also use a sauce pan with a lid.Ingredient List
Brown Rice | Raisins | Cinnamon | Apple | Smart Balance Buttery Spread (optional)Process
- Follow instructions given for rice on the package. If you have a rice cooker, mind those instructions for best results
- Once rice is completed, add raisins and stir in.
- You can now add cinnamon. Stir in as much as you are comfortable adding.
- Add buttery spread to melt over the top
- Add cut up apple (heated in microwave or unheated) to the top
Notes
Depending on how much rice you make, you will be able to keep the mix of rice, raisins, and cinnamon in the refrigerator to use over the course of a few days. When you are ready to warm this up, place in the microwave with a bit of buttery spread (if desired). You can then add the apple at this point.Keep in mind that apples are just a suggestion. You may also use other fruits as toppings such as strawberries, raspberries, or blueberries.
You can serve this with a protein shake, orange juice, or tea for a more complete breakfast.
